34th Autumnal Auction

The 34th Autumn Auction ends with great results!

On 2023, September 23rd, 16 riding horses and 29 foals went under the hammer of auctioneer Burkhard Wahler at the Klosterhof Medingen. The price top of the offered riding horses will in future be in the stable of the Finnish Emma Kanerva. Her sponsor, who lives in Stade, bought the three-year-old gelding Fürst by Fürst Romancier, Vice Champion in the age class of three-year-old Hanoverians, for 250,000 Euros. Breeder of the elegant Hanoverian is Gerold Gögele.
The second most expensive horse was the four-year-old mare Bellini by Borsalino-Stedinger, bred and exhibited by the Klosterhof itself, who is listed in the sales statistics with a hammer price of 150,000 Euros.
Five of the riding horses were knocked down at six-figure prices. The four-year-old Westphalian Bossa Nova by. Borsalino and the five-year-old KWPN stallion Tik Tok by Toto jr. achieved prices of 130,000 Euros. Miss Moneypenny by Marc Cain changed hands to Hamburg for 122,000. Buyers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands were able to purchase their riding horse for an average of 76,000 Euros.

The 29 foals of the autumn auction reached an average price of 13,500 Euros. The three most expensive foals were all sired by the Oldenburg premium stallion St. Emilion. A total of 13 and thus almost half of the foals that appeared in the auction ring were descended from the Oldenburg Vice Champion. The foals that were sired by St. Emilion cost an average of 17,961 Euros.
Breeder Silvia Zeyn from Völkersen near Verden was doubly happy. Her Oldenburg colts Starchaser and Snoopy were the two most expensive foals. Starchaser, out of a San Amour-Lamerto H dam, cost 50,000 Euros. Snoopy, out of a Don K dam, finished the auction with a hammer price of 42,000 Euros. The filly that was most in the buyers' favour was the Hanoverian foal Saphira, born at Dirk Vierke in Deutschhorst out of a Fürstenball daughter. Saphira cost 25,000 Euros.
Four foals were knocked down abroad to Holland, USA, France and Austria.

In addition to the riding horses, a wooden horse was auctioned for the association "Pferde für unsere Kinder e.V.". The aim of the association is to bring children, who are not able to do so at home, into contact with horses. Through contact with horses, our children learn camaraderie, responsibility, reliability and respect. Thanks to the great participation, a total of 10,500 euros could be collected for the good cause. The wooden horse will be donated to a kindergarten in the area!

"The successful result as well as the worldwide demand for the riding horses and foals this year speaks for the quality of our collection! Personally, I am also very happy about the result of our charity campaign. The donation sum of 10,500 Euros and the enormous willingness of the bidders showed what a great audience we were able to welcome in Medingen", Christoph Wahler summed up the successful auction.
